The new year is a great time for fresh starts and setting goals. Many use the new year to make healthier choices like changing diets, working out more, getting more sleep, etc. However, there is one resolution that we recommend that most do not consider. We like to call this your “Roof Year’s Resolution.”
Your roof puts in a lot of hard work to keep your home safe, so when you make it a priority to keep it in the best possible condition, you are making a smart choice for you and your family.
Here are a few goals you might consider when it comes to your roof:
Know the Current Condition of Your Roof— Just being aware of the current state of your roof is a great way to stay on top of possible issues or damage. This includes noticing missing shingles, clogged gutters, and worn flashing. The best and easiest way to catch these early is to schedule a roof inspection.
Commit to routine maintenance— This includes keeping your gutters clear and clean, trimming overhanging branches, and doing a quick visual inspection after storms.
Improve Roof Ventilation and Insulation— When you ensure your home is properly insulated, your home can better regulate temperature, reduce moisture, prevent ice dam formation, and avoid premature roof aging.
Know When it’s Time to Repair or Replace Your Roof— If your roof is older or has damage, you might consider having it repaired or replaced. This can actually save you money in the long run by avoiding further damage.
So, let this be your reminder to take care of your roof in the new year.
And, we want to wish you and your family a very happy, healthy, and wonderful new year!
